Areté Associates is an advanced science and engineering company that provides innovative solutions to the most challenging technical problems faced by the United States Defense and Intelligence agencies. Our name, derived from the Greek word areté, means the achievement of maximum performance, the pursuit of excellence. Since our founding in 1976, Areté Associates has enjoyed a continuous increase in both revenue and profitability and has earned a well-deserved reputation for the quality and innovation of the solutions that we provide to our customers. Areté currently has over 300 employees in seven locations and actively recruits like-minded professionals to join our growing team.

Areté’s market is national security, with specific emphasis on advanced technology development and exploitation for the defense and intelligence sectors. The scope of our contractual efforts encompasses innovative research and development of advanced concepts, rigorous assessments and demonstrations of new technologies through engineering and production of deliverable systems (hardware and software) for remote sensing applications. In pursuing these markets, Areté seeks opportunities that leverage our core competencies and provide our customers with significant improvements over the state of the art.

As a complement to our technical efforts, Areté has a robust line of business in intelligence analysis and military strategic planning. In these efforts, Areté works with flag and general officers and senior intelligence and technology officials to characterize future threats, develop military strategies to meet those threats, and identify advanced technologies and capabilities required to execute future military operations
