Founded on the need to detect extraordinarily weak signals in high-noise environments, Areté Associates’ three-decade long algorithmic expertise has been honed on projects ranging from long-range detection of marine mammals to monitoring of suspected illegal drug operations hidden by foliage canopies. Our primary focuses include object detection and tracking, noise removal, and classification of features of interest for our customers.

To create our technology, Areté draws heavily on our expertise in statistical signal processing and inference, numerical methods, pattern recognition, and false alarm mitigation. From a physics perspective, Areté uses complex models of the atmosphere and the ocean to advance our understanding of sensor performance and of the interactions between the environment and various forms of radiation.
