Reaffirmation of EEO

Reaffirmation of EEO/Affirmative Action & Anti-Harassment Policy

Areté Associates hereby reaffirms our commitment to providing equal employment opportunity for all applicants and employees. The Company does not unlawfully discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, pregnancy, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or perceived sex or gender, genetic information, national origin, ancestry, age, physical or mental disability, legally protected medical condition, marital status, veteran status, or any other protected classification under federal, state, or local law. In keeping with this commitment, Areté prohibits such discrimination in all areas of employment, including: recruitment, hiring, training, promotion, discipline, separations, benefits, and compensation, as provided for by applicable laws.

In addition, Areté is committed to providing a working environment that is free from sexual harassment and other unlawful harassment.   The Company prohibits all forms of conduct – such as verbal, physical, or visual conduct – which are unwelcome and evidence discrimination on any of the bases listed above. This policy applies to all employees, whether supervisors or non-supervisors, and non-employees doing business with Areté employees or while visiting Company premises. Further, Areté provides harassment prevention training to ensure employees the opportunity to work in an environment free of sexual and other unlawful harassment.

Any employee who thinks that a violation of this policy has occurred should immediately report the matter to their supervisor, manager or Human Resources. If, for any reason, an employee would prefer not to discuss the issue of discrimination or harassment with any of those individuals, the employee should contact an Executive/Vice President or any other senior member of management. Claims of discrimination and harassment will be promptly investigated and appropriate corrective action will be taken. Areté will not tolerate retaliation against any employee for making a good faith complaint under this policy or for cooperating in an investigation. For additional information on our handling of discrimination and harassment claims, prohibition against retaliation and definitions of harassment, please contact Human Resources. Refer to our company policy, PPPG #204, Anti-Harassment for additional information.

The Company has established and maintains an Affirmative Action Plan in support of our commitment to the principle of equal employment opportunity. This plan describes the policies and procedures used in the Company’s operations to carry out its commitment.

Stephanie Sztanski, Director, Corporate Human Resources, has been appointed Corporate EEO Officer. She is responsible for administering the company’s affirmative action program and reports to senior management on a continuing basis with regard to the progress being made under the Plan.
