Physics-Based Modeling & Simulation

Physics based modelingAreté uses rigorous physics-based modeling to provide realistic simulations of natural phenomena and associated outputs from a range of remote sensing systems.

Areté models primarily focus on remote sensing in the ocean environment, and in this particular niche our models are second to none. Our models comprehend the physical structure of the environment, the transfer of radiation through the environment, and the interaction of the radiation with the sensor.

Our models incorporate Advanced Atmospherics and Advanced Hydrodynamics of the ocean surface including breaking waves. Our models have been well validated against real data for a range of environmental conditions and sensor systems.

The primary sensors on which we focus include:

     ·   Passive optical in the infrared bands (IR) (longwave, midwave, & near IR), visible & millimeter bands
     ·   LIDAR in the visible & IR bands
     ·   Radar (real & synthetic aperture).

We have encapsulated our advanced understanding of these phenomena in Optical Sensor Modeling and Simulation and Radar Modeling and Simulation codes. The results are highly accurate marine environment simulations that are applicable to both optical and radar bands.
