Sensor System Development

At Areté Associates, employees are encouraged to seek creative solutions to complex problems and to develop and build their own sensor and systems concepts. Given Areté Associates' diverse and energetic workforce, there are various systems under development including active and passive electro-optic (EO) systems, laser systems, and in-situ sensors.

Areté's active EO sensor systems are used in a variety of military reconnaissance applications including the detection and location of sea and beach laid mines and minefields.

Areté has developed several unique large format passive EO sensor systems for use in airborne ocean surveillance, ocean current and sea state, land surveillance, passive 3-D imaging, and precision targeting.

Areté has developed a variety of oceanic in-situ sensors to measure a wide range of parameters for numerous military and oceanographic applications.

Areté's Laser Systems Group provides state of the art diode pumped solid state lasers and laser systems. In addition to its pulsed laser capabilities, Areté can provide unique continuous wave lasers primarily for spectroscopy and quantum optics applications. Areté provides both standard laser products and custom lasers.

Complimenting its broad capabilities in modeling and algorithm development, Arete’s CBRNE (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, Explosive) Threat Reduction Advancement Processor (TRAP) provides advanced near real-time and 24/7 monitoring of biological threats. Based on a decade plus government development effort, the TRAP sensor provides trigger and/or alarm capability under the most difficult operating environments.
