Areté's National Security Studies and Analysis Group provides senior-level analysis, red teaming, CONOPS development, warfare-experimentation concept development, studies and analysis and simulation support to clients in the Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community. Unlike other programs where contractors maintain a large group of full-time employees, and supplement direct labor with only a few subject-matter-expert consultants, Areté maintains a small team of full-time professionals and a large network of highly experienced, recognized experts in the national security arena. Based on each client's specific needs, Areté brings together the ideal mix of experience to provide an executive-level team to work with each client to address those needs. Clients have the benefit of one point of contact, and a team of experts tailored to each project.
Areté selects subject-matter experts not only for their relevant backgrounds but also based on their willingness to actually get involved with each project – planning, writing, and briefing – as required. This superb group of professionals includes former Assistant Secretaries of Defense and State, Ambassadors, Regional Combatant Commanders, Service Chiefs, Senior Intelligence Professionals, National Security Council Directors, Numbered Fleet, Air Force and Corps Commanders, academics, and industry executives. The modeling and simulation companies with which Areté works include those who provide relevant support to the Army, Navy and Marine Corps, and Air Force.
The Areté permanent staff includes retired military officers with senior staff experience on Joint, Service, and Regional Combatant Commander staffs. Each Areté team member has earned an advanced academic degree and attended appropriate level Service schools. Areté prides itself on its large number of repeat customers that include the Joint Staff, Joint Requirements Oversight Council, Marine Corps Combat Development Command, and various offices within the Intelligence Community.
